Spain’s Social Acceptance of Divorce
Oct 14th, 2009 by Adrienne Keith
According to this story, Spain’s acceptance of divorce is only second to Brazil’s.
The University of Granada’s Department of Sociology announced their finding that 79 per cent of Spanish people think that “when a couple is not able to solve their marital problems, divorce is the best solution.” Interestingly, based on the data in the study, the countries where social acceptance of divorce is the lowest are: Japan, Filipinas and the United States. As my mother would say: Truth is stranger than fiction!
